Extracurricular activities
Student Representative Council
We have a strong and active Student Representative Council (SRC). Members are elected quarterly by their peers to represent them at meetings with the Religious Education Leader and Deputy Principal. The SRC works on a variety of student-led activities throughout the year including this, that, and a whole lot more.
Lunchtime clubs
At St Margaret Mary’s we provide opportunities for students to develop skills in their own areas of interest. A number of lunchtime clubs run throughout the week which students can choose to participate in. The clubs change throughout the year based on student interest.
Current lunchtime clubs are Dance Club, Circus Skills Club, Lego Club, Choir, and Reading Club. Our teaching staff run each of the activities and children are encouraged to sign-up if they are interested.
Mini Vinnies
St Margaret Mary’s has run the Mini Vinnies group for 5/6 years. This group of senior students empowers students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their values into action. They meet regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills and engage with the wider St Vincent de Paul Society. Some of the initiatives the Mini Vinnies have run recently are the Winter Appeal and the Caritas ‘Hop-a-Thon’.
