Meet and Greet Meetings
15th February - 3.15pm - 5.30pm

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the 2022 school year. I hope that all families had a ‘Happy New Year’ and a wonderful summer break and you were able to avoid COVID?

The school year begins with the wonderful news that Simone (Ms. Laurie) had her baby! Ned Patrick Laurie was born on the 21st January, weighing 7lbs 4ozs. Big brother Billy thinks his little brother is wonderful! Due to COVID we have been unable to see Simone, Billy or baby Ned, but look forward to catching up with the Laurie family very soon. Until then, here are some lovely photos of Billy and Ned!

Thank you to all the parents who signed up for the ‘Meet & Greet meetings’ on Tuesday night. As we have new staff and staff in new year levels, it was a great way to meet your child's teacher and to let them know key information that you would like them to know regarding your child. If you are yet to sign up for the Meet & Greet Meetings, you can book a meeting for Tuesday 15th February on https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/ using the booking code: nqaxd

The individual teacher codes for the night can be found below:

Speaking of new teachers, over the holidays we employed two new teachers to join the staff at St. Margaret Mary’s. I would like to welcome Mrs. Megan Urlichs to our staff. Megan has taken up the role of Learning Enhancement Teacher in Grade 1/2  classes. I would also like to welcome back to our staff Mrs. Suliana Ramirez. You may remember Suliana from a few years ago when she worked at our school as an LSO. At the end of 2021, Suliana completed her teaching qualifications and as a native speaker of Spanish we have been very lucky to have Suliana rejoin our staff.

Last week the children brought home a box of 5 Rapid Antigen Tests to complete the COVID testing twice a weeks. At the beginning of next week the children will bring home another box of five RATs for the next two weeks. As we have a few cases of COVID in the school, I would ask all families to be vigilant with the testing regime. Also just a reminder that it is mandatory for all students from Grades 3-6 to wear a mask (Strongly encouraged for Prep - Grade 2) inside during school hours unless medically exempt. If your child is medically exempt from wearing a mask you need to provide the school with a doctor’s certificate.

Regards,

Andrea Richards

Principal
